A couple Questions about A/E UW
I am going to start using my A/Ele to UW farm but I have a few questions.
For A/E is it normally accpeted to do it in HM?
What equipment do I need?
What build should I use?
Is A/E faster than A/Me?
What areas are done with an A/E?
How long shoudl it take?
I found a couple answers in individual threads but I would like to get it all in one place so people can have a one stop shop lol

1. Nope, it's mostly done in NM you're there for the ecto anyway.
2. Generally you'd want Superior/Major Shadow Mastery with +1 Shadow Helm, just put Attunement and Radiant on all the pieces.
3. Personal Preferance, I use MoR + Lava Font so I can clear Aatxes aswell.
4. A/E is faster imo.
5. Phoenix + Inferno you'd only be able to clear Mindblades, with MoR + Lava Font you can clear the first 3 rooms of Aatxe and the Terrorwebs in 2nd room.
6. Phoenix + Inferno should take around ~20 minutes cause you're only clearing Mindblades, with MoR + Lava Font, I'm guessing ~28 minutes.
EDIT: Sorry for double post, Guru is lagging for me right now...

For A/E is it normally accepted to do it in HM?
1. You can do it in HM, but ecto drops are the same both ways so it'll be easier to do it in NM.
What equipment do I need?
2. For the ele skills build; either a staff/firestaff with +20% enchant mod (and other energy mods, but not needed), or a fire mainhand and offhand combo.
What build should I use?
3. I prefer the Ele skills build, go here for more information.
Is A/E faster than A/Me?
4. Supposedly not, but I prefer the A/E build anyway, much easier to get the skills.
What areas are done with an A/E?
5. The Chaos Plains, the main chamber (graspings, aatxes if you want, terrorwebs).
How long should it take?
6. Most of my runs are sub 30~ minutes. But when I first started I was getting 40-60 minute runs. If you keep at it, you will learn the spawns and do it much quicker than when you started.

Equipment - you must have a 20% longer enchant mod or SF wont last. Im using a Spirit of the Forgotten + a 20/20 fire offhand (collectors Vasburg Armory)
Tbh totem axe would be fine for the weapon, cheap enough to pick up +5e+20% is the most common need for the weapon. Any offhand with extra energy is handy

There's not really any reason to. It's slower because the HM monster AI will scatter where the NM AI won't. The ecto drop rate is the same. And the uninscribable golds with ugly skins you'll get from HM aren't worth anything.
The only reason I can think of for doing it in HM would be to try to get a decent gloom shield, but the odds of getting 2 maxed good mods are so low that you'd be better off just farming more ectos and buying an inscribable one or investing in Z-Keys.

I would suggest:- Shadow arts headpiece with Sup. shadow arts rune. Major or even minor rune will work in a pinch.
- Weapon set 1:
- Fiery spear of 20% enchanting with a +5e inscription. The fiery prefix lets you keep things on fire during lava font's downtime; It's nice but not necessary. Spear works at range, which is nice if you want to try to kill a behemoth or accidentally attack an aatxe (riposte hurts), but not necessary; an axe or sword will work too. If you have a Sup rune, you don't actually need the enchanting mod, but it's extremely tight without it.
- 20/20 fire focus
- weapon set 2: Vampiric anything of enchanting. Used to keep your life down while travelling between mobs. The enchanting mod isn't necessary, but it's nice to have if you forget to switch back to your enchanting set.
- weapon set 3: Flatbow of fortitude. Used for pulling stuff without losing aggro from another group and for reestablishing aggro from a group that's broken aggro. The fortitude is unnecessary, but on a couple of occasions the extra 30 hp has saved me when I hit traps in a bad spawn.
- Weapon set 4: If you really want to be extra careful, either a +15/-1 fire focus in case you screw up your energy or a +30hp, +45hp when enchanted staff (or weapon + offhand) for if you hit a trap.
- Runes and insignias can be whatever. Radiant is nice, but not needed. I'd just use your normal armor and not bother re-runing.
I like:
[shadow form][deadly paradox][glyph of swiftness][dash][lava font][mark of rodgort][glyph of lesser energy][fire attunement]
I don't know. It's certainly easier. And you don't have to grind titles for it. Since A/E became possible, I haven't heard any reliable posters comment on their relative speeds.

You can do labyrinth, chaos planes, bone pits, as well as the quests Imprisoned Spirits and Unwanted Guests. I would stick to chaos planes and labyrinth, since they have the best ecto/time ratio. I'd only do bone pits/imprisoned spirits if I felt lucky about the unlocked quest chest or wanted to get someone a spider.
I think you could probably do forgotten vale if you had a spear, but nothing worthwhile drops there, and I don't think you can do the quest.
Depends on what areas you do. I'll time a couple of runs later and edit them in.

No.
What equipment do I need?
Average Caster weapon preferably with a fiery mod and a 20/20 Fire focus
What build should I use?
The mark of Rodgort+Lava Font one
Is A/E faster than A/Me?
I believe so.
What areas are done with an A/E?
You can do the full chamber/Chaos Planes/bone pits/Pools
How long shoudl it take?
Depends on how much you kill, the average chaos planes only run should be like 20-35 minutes.

I avoided them with really careful aggro, and managed to kill most of the terrorwebs. pretty difficult, tho.

Sorry for the slow update. Time with A/E MoR-LavaFont-Dash build for Labyrinth (minus 2 aatxe that aren't worth chasing after) plus Plains is ~35 min.

I usually avoid killing the aatxes, then head straight for Chaos planes. A run like this takes me about 21-24 minutes.

After thinking about the builds I now have a question.
Has anyone tried using any of the E/A builds in a team setup for clearing UW?
Keep in mind, I don't necessarily need something for speed runs and I know people prefer A/Me for some reason but I find A/E soo much easier.

I think people use speed boosts to avoid traps...
